As You Were

I do fear
those silences.
You know, like when
they just lone creep all up
over your skin
& worry itch inside
start to wire choke you
God not this crap again
till fish-eyed gasping
& all the flat green doubt
burns weeping, so goddamn mote
brimming your scrubbing eyes
weak dumb blind.
Babe, you can't
blink that all away.

See
I've figured it out.
That's when you'll come home
& see my hollow. I know.
That's how I'm gonna
lose you.

& then there's oh so
nothing for me baby,
I'm so nothing left so lost
I'm gone.
