Light Bells Deeper

Light, more light, as the days grow
and the light bells deeper
and fills the crannies in me;
and if it is less precious
still I spur myself not to waste it,
nor take it for granted
after all the long dark days.

I can’t drink it up fast enough
or store it for later,
when my mind can focus,
when the chaos within me calms
enough for a smooth surface
to reflect the light
more truly.
