The Point of Sorrow (a san san)

(Day 14’s NaPoWriMo prompt is to write a “san san” a poem with three repeating images, with seven lines in an a/b/c/a/b/d/c/d pattern.)

sad girlFrom sorrow I seek solace,
Enough of it to swaddle
Wound around in mothering
The languid wrap a nullness.

My own sore soul to coddle
Full and dark;
To shield me without smothering
The spark.
